The Open Enterprise Community is a group of individuals who contribute to the production and development of a SalesForce type of enterprise where instead of the software being sold as a service for a monthly fee, it is the software and services that are free to businesses, suppliers and resellers and the service is supported in the conventional manner of tangable products being sold for which the seller receives their requested markup say a standard 33% and the software vender receives a commission on the sale.
The OpenEnterprise Community and Marketplace is currently a "Thought Experiment" of how a business could exist entirely online. What we mean by this is that all the software functions of a business reside in an online environment to which people have access to the functions that they are best suited to and have a unique skills set.
We imagine this system to be the most productive and rewarding mechanism to build the business upon. It will loosley work around the idea of a Mulit Level Marketing Company but unlike such a company where the received income to both the reseller and the company (pulling in and storing the products untill required, hence overheads) are split sepatately giving a markup of approx 33% each then percentages to upline coaches of varying degrees, and the company is physically separated from the sales force, we envision that the company be owned by the resellers who do the ground work.
Where Employees are concerned, there are no Employees! This means that everyone has a vested interest in the success of the company as well as their own individual profits thus leading to a market place that is built, managed and opperated by skillfull individuals in all sorts of office bassed skills also participating in the selling and promotion of the business for which they receive much larger rewards and dividends. It can be akin to Performance related pay but with much greater flexability in the individuals roles because each individual can choose to be say a sales customer service clerk or a member of the finance team or the CEO of a department or country area. Where as in the conventional business models with Hirearchial levels of management this business model will be flat! I.E. You can and will be at the same potential earning level or greater than a potential managerial CEO of a given department.
Oh, I must add.... because each individual hold their own control over their earning potential and have no management structure above them that there should never be any work related stress of any kind. People are free to come and go as and when they please, they may leave their account dormant at any time, They can do as much as they like or as little as they like but as long as there is a small attention given to promoting and developing their own sales stream that is encouraged positively to grow on its own, they may expect to come back several years later to find a substantial growth on their initial seeds. However, the best sales streams will be those developed by concencious go-getters.
Back to dividends; are paid upon the total yearly growth of the "company" and profits made. Profits will be divided in a methodical manner which takes account of programming developers, contributing technologies, charitable interests, investors and the sales force. The split will something along the lines of 10%, 10%, 5%, 25%, 50% respectively.
Hopefully that will provide food for thought for now.
